Sample Group Schedules

Sample Group Schedules allow you to automatically increase the sample size of one or more sample groups over time. This helps you pace traffic gradually without manually editing sample sizes throughout the life of a project.

Instead of releasing all sample at once, you can define a schedule that increments your sample groups at fixed intervals based on your project needs.

Accessing and Creating Sample Group Schedules

To access Sample Group Schedules:

  1. Open a project in peeq
  2. Navigate to the Sample Group tab
  3. Select Schedule Sample Groups

Selecting this option opens the Sample Group Schedule modal. This modal serves as the single location for creating new schedules and managing existing ones.

To create a new schedule, select Create Sample Group Schedule.

When creating a schedule, the following information is required:

• Schedule Name
A short, descriptive name used to identify the schedule within the project.

• Sample Groups
One or more sample groups that the schedule applies to. Only non-deleted sample groups that are not already attached to another schedule are available for selection. At least one sample group must be selected.

• Increment Frequency
Defines how often the schedule runs. This is configured using a numeric value and a time unit of Minutes, Hours, or Days. Validation ensures that the selected interval stays within supported limits.

• Increment Amount
Defines how much the sample size increases at each interval. An Absolute Count adds a fixed number each time. A Percentage increases the current sample size by a percentage and is always rounded up.

• End Date and Time
An optional setting that defines when the schedule should stop running. If set, the end date must be at least one hour in the future and requires a time zone selection consistent with the Project Scheduler.

Selecting Create saves and activates the schedule. Selecting Cancel exits without saving.

Viewing and Managing Schedules

Once one or more schedules exist, they appear in a Sample Group Schedules section within the modal.

Each schedule is displayed with the following details:

• Schedule name
• Current status, Active or Inactive
• Schedule type, always Fixed for now
• Time zone
• A plain-text summary describing how and when increments occur

From this list, schedules can be edited, paused, resumed, or deleted.

Pausing a schedule sets its status to Inactive and stops future increments. Resuming a schedule reactivates it and restarts the full timing interval rather than continuing from the previous countdown. Deleting a schedule permanently removes it after confirmation and cannot be undone.

How Schedules Run and When They Stop

Active schedules run automatically based on their configuration. At each interval, sample sizes are increased according to how each sample group is configured.

• Sample groups configured by completes are incremented by completes
• Sample groups configured by clicks are incremented by clicks

Schedules remain active but do not increment when the project is not open to traffic. This includes cases where the project is not Live, is restricted by a project-level schedule, or is paused due to Max Clicks. If an end date is configured, the schedule automatically stops and is set to Inactive once that date is reached.

If a sample group within a schedule is set to inactive, the schedule itself remains active. Increment logic is skipped only for that sample group, while other active sample groups within the same schedule continue to increment.

Note that when a schedule is paused manually or stopped automatically, the internal timer resets. Resuming the schedule always starts a full interval countdown.

Quota Behavior and Multiple Schedules

Schedules apply increments only to the sample group. If distributions exist, percentage-based child quotas scale automatically as the parent increases. Absolute-value child quotas are not automatically updated.

A project may have multiple schedules active at the same time. Each schedule operates independently and applies increments only to its assigned sample groups without interfering with other schedules.

Schedule Count Indicator

The number of configured schedules is displayed next to Schedule Sample Groups on the Sample Group tab, providing a quick visual indicator of how many schedules exist for the project.
